Hamblin is the former editor-in-chief/ publisher of the monthly arts and fashion periodical; DAKA Magazine, quarterly news magazine; New World News, and the monthly newspaper The World Times, an international newspaper devoted to the reporting of positive news.

Hamblin, recently featured in Hero Magazine for the adoption of his son as a single man, has also been interviewed by the international media including; The New York Times, The Phil Donahue Show, London's Independent, Wall Street Journal, Australia's The Age, The Japan Times, BBC, CBC, PBS, NPR, Reuters news service and several other media outlets.

Currently Hamblin resides in Rochester NY. He lives with his 14 year old son and several pets. He is author of the upcoming books; American Father; A journey of adopting as a single gay man, and FABULOUS COOKING- In the Kitchen with a Gay Guy!. He is a frequent guest speaker at colleges and conducts his Spirit of LIFE Workshop through-out the country.
